These days it is sooooooo hard to get a clear photo with Landon...he moves so fast! I would be showing you only blurry photos but I must talk about him and what is trending because this is a full life-style blog. So let's start off with this California weather...it is 75-80 degrees but I know how to layer-up in the morning (when it is 30-50 degrees) and then un-layer (is that a word?) in the later afternoon. I start off bundled up and then by 12pm I take off my leggings, jacket, scarf, and I even have a spare of flats/sandals in the backseat of my car. I am ALWAYS prepared. For Chris, Landon, and then lastly me....now onto the mother myths and truths........

MYTH: (Sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) is the unexplained death, usually during sleep, of a seemingly healthy baby less than a year old. SIDS is sometimes known as crib death because the infants often die in their cribs.) This SERIOUSLY NEEDS TO BE RESTED. I spent months sleeping right next to Landon to make sure I heard his every breath. Fact is, Landon had a issue with some serious GAS! I deprived him of sleeping on this tummy which was of comfort to him. I finally approved at 5 months of zero sleeping to let him sleep on his stomach in his crib more than 5ft away from me. I fell into a deprived sleep of anxiety. It happens and it is every parents worst nightmare...your children should NOT go before you. I realize now....I should have just allowed him to sleep to what had fit him best.
The ADVICE..OH gosh once you break the news everyone gives you advice about your pregnancy and how to raise your new one. I have learned it will never stop so trust what you and the other parent are doing and you will do great!
I nested like Landon would be born then next day. I bought a full size crib first....yeah he didn't sleep in that thing until he was 5 months old. I luckily did research and bought him a magic swing from Fisher Price so that worked. When we were visiting other friends and family.....don't laugh...I brought blankets and would use their dresser drawer for Landon. It was small and cozy and he couldn't roll over yet. We didn't want to deal with packing it up all the time.
Last but not least.....if someone offers help just say YES and Thank you. It is okay if the laundry does not get done....or you need someone to watch your baby for a bit while you shower, just rest, talk, or even cry! I wish I took my own advice. I tried to do everything and I always felt so un-productive. Not to mention when Landon did sleep I ate and watched him sleep. I am not offering advice...trying not to. I am sharing my experience with you and some pictures I love from Tania Lewis Photo.
